Draftsman (Shop Drawing / Construction)
Location: Ardsley, New York
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
We are a busy General Contracting firm seeking a skilled Shop Drawing Draftsman to join our team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in construction drawings who can translate design intent into detailed, accurate shop drawings for field use.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop drawings and as-built drawings
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications
- Incorporate redlines and markups from project managers, architects, and engineers
- Coordinate drawings with subcontractors, vendors, and internal team
- Maintain organized records of all drawings, revision, and related documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a draftsman in construction or general contracting
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD (required)
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus
- Experience with Revit is a plus
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Experience producing shop drawings for millwork, custom metal, finish details
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with project teams
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and translate them into detailed shop drawings with Clarity
- Knowledge of structural systems, interior layouts, mechanical components and construction standards
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in Construction Field
- Familiarity with submittal processes
- Field experience or understanding of construction methods is a plus
