Financial Controller and Office Manager Position – NYC

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Controller & Office Manager to oversee financial and operational management across Affect Group. This dual role combines full ownership of accounting, payroll, cash flow, and financial reporting with hands-on responsibility for day-to-day office operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, sound judgment on confidential matters, and the flexibility to manage both high-level compliance work and the practical details that keep an office running smoothly. Responsibilities and Duties:

· Oversee financial health across all entities, including budgets, tax compliance, and insurance

· Manage accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, along with cash flow and accounting policies

· Support hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management, including 401k administration and employee files

· Oversee regulatory reporting, tax planning, and compliance-related employee notifications

· Prepare internal and external financial statements and support external auditors

· Ensure IT, phones, computers, and supplies are set up for every employee and every project, from kickoff through closeout

· Keep the office running: equipment maintenance, supply inventory, scheduling, travel arrangements, and calendars for management

· Coordinate maintenance and cleaning so the space stays safe and organized

Qualifications and Skills:

· Five or more years of professional accounting experience

· Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis

· Working knowledge of tax regulations and compliance reporting at the national and local level

· Hands-on payroll management experience

· A track record of strong financial project management

· Excellent time management, people skills, and the flexibility to multitask across priorities

· Proficiency in QuickBooks or Sage, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite, with the ability to pick up new systems quickly

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to keep sensitive company information confidential

· Notary Public certification

QuickBooks/Sage, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel),Google Suites (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Salary Information:

· 90k – $130k depending on experience
