Social Security benefits are government-provided financial payments designed to support individuals who are retired or disabled. Funded through payroll taxes, these benefits provide a safety net to help cover basic living expenses and ensure economic security for millions of Americans. We can assist you to complete your online application.
Medicare and Medicaid are government health insurance programs that help cover medical costs for eligible individuals. Medicare primarily serves people aged 65 and older or those with certain disabilities, while Medicaid provides coverage for low-income individuals and families. If you’re unsure whether you qualify or need help applying, the Aisling Center can guide you through the process and ensure you get the support you deserve. We can assist with questions on benefits, eligibility, and filling out the application online.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as Foodstamps), provides financial assistance to help low-income individuals and families buy groceries. If you’re struggling to afford food, you may be eligible for this vital support. The Aisling Center can help you understand the requirements and assist you with the application process to ensure you get the help you need.
Unemployment Insurance is temporary income for eligible workers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. It can be a challenging time, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. The Aisling Center is here to help with applying for unemployment benefits to ensure you get the assistance you need. If you are eligible, you will be paid for all benefits from that date forward. You must certify your eligibility for benefits weekly online or over the phone to receive benefits.
The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (“MHACY”) owns and manages a wide variety of properties, and administers a Housing Choice Voucher Program, to provide affordable, stable, decent and safe housing opportunities within the City of Yonkers.
They work collaboratively with federal and state officials, and with the City of Yonkers, as their participation and assistance is essential in addressing the housing needs of families with very low income.
There is a waiting list that re-opens every few years. The waiting list is currently closed. When the next application window is open, we will post it here.
The passport application is now fully online, with paper applications no longer being accepted. The application for both renewals and first time applicants can be accessed here. Passport Online is a fast and simple way to apply for your passport. If you are an adult renewing your passport with the same information, you normally won’t need to submit any supporting documents. If you are a first time applicant, renewing for a child, or changing the information on your passport, Passport Online will e-mail you a list of documents which you need to submit directly to the Passport Service in Ireland. Please check your email inbox and your spam carefully for any communications from the Passport Service. When your passport is printed, it will be posted to you directly, along with any supporting documents.
