Céilí Band and Ballad Group

Thank you to Tara Circle for your continued support of the Aisling Center Céilí Band & Ballad Group!

The Aisling Irish Community Center is proud to be a grantee of ArtsWestchester with funding made possible by Westchester County Government with support of County Executive George Latimer.

The Céilí Band (pronounced Kay-lee) has historical importance in Irish culture. It provided music for céilí dancing, bringing communities together. Irish ballads passed down stories of history, struggles, and triumphs. These musical treasures preserve the soul of Ireland’s past and shape its cultural identity for the future.

Today, our Céilí Band and Ballad (CBBG) group continue to play a vital role in preserving Irish music and passing it down to the next generation.

Members meet weekly to practice playing traditional Irish tunes and learn new ones. While practice is not open to the public, CBBG are non-competitive but perform regularly at special events and occasions throughout the tri-state area and locally in Yonkers.
