Nanny – Manhattan
Parents are seeking a full-time live-out infant nanny (Monday-Friday). Start date is flexible but anticipated to be between October and year-end when infant is four to six months old. Location is north of the George Washington Bridge in Washington Heights, Manhattan.
Compensation: From $33/hour base pay for a 40-hour workweek, with final rate based on experience and qualifications. Overtime paid as required by law.
This is a full-time W-2 position. Do not apply if you cannot accept “on the books” employment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience caring for infants, including babies under 12 months.
- Current infant/child CPR and First Aid certification; candidates without current certification must be willing to obtain certification before beginning unsupervised care.
- Up-to-date on routine vaccinations, including MMR and Tdap, COVID-19, and current-season influenza vaccine.
- Physically able to safely lift, carry, and handle an infant, including getting down to and up from the floor.
- Strong reliability, communication, and judgment.
- Calm, patient, and engaging and fully present with baby.
- Comfortable working in a home where one or both parents work remotely and will periodically interact with the baby during the day.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Primary responsibilities
- Provide attentive, responsive care for the infant throughout the workday.
- Feeding, burping, diapering, and maintaining a daily record of feeds, diapers, and naps.
- Preparing and washing/sanitizing bottles and pacifiers.
- Follow the family’s safe-sleep practices and managing naps according to the infant’s cues and the family’s preferences.
- Provide age-appropriate play and developmental interaction, including floor play, reading, talking/singing, and walks outdoors as appropriate.
- Follow parents’ instructions regarding feeding, sleep, safety, and other aspects of infant care.
- Communicate promptly with parents regarding any concerns or changes in the infant’s condition.

Additional Information
- Household has no pets.
- Nanny will be asked not to wear perfumes, colognes, or strongly scented personal-care products while at work.
- Nanny may not photograph or record the child, family, or household for personal use, including social media, without the parents’ permission.
Hiring Process
- Final candidate(s) will participate in a paid one- or two-day trial. Following the trial, the family and nanny will determine whether to proceed with a longer-term employment relationship.
- Hiring will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check and verification of professional childcare references.
- Family and nanny will enter into a written employment agreement.
