Job Opportunity – Steamfitter – Astoria, Queens

Mechanical contractor seeking an experienced, reliable Steamfitter to install, maintain, and repair steam, hydronic, and mechanical piping systems on commercial job sites. This is a hands-on role for a tradesperson who can read drawings, work safely, and deliver quality installations from rough-in to finish.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and repair steam, hydronic, and mechanical piping systems.

• Cut, thread, weld, solder, and braze pipe to spec.

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and mechanical schematics.

• Test systems for leaks and pressure integrity.

• Follow OSHA and site-specific safety protocols.

• Collaborate with project supervisors, engineers, and other trades on-site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial/industrial piping experience.

• Proficiency in welding, brazing, and soldering.

• Working knowledge of relevant mechanical codes.

• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.

• Strong blueprint-reading skills.

• Reliable, safety-conscious, able to work independently and in a crew.

Position Details

• Full-time.

• $30 to $60 per hour depending on experience.
