Job Title: Nighttime Respite Care Provider – Whitestone, Queens, NY

Job Type: Evenings; Monday–Friday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Location: In-home (Whitestone, Queens)

Overview:

A loving family in Whitestone, Queens, is seeking a compassionate and reliable Nighttime Respite Care Provider to offer in-home overnight support. This role provides much-needed relief to aging parent caregivers by assisting with the nighttime care of their adult daughter with developmental disabilities. The family includes an elderly father, mother, and their adult daughter—everyone is mobile and warm, welcoming, and appreciative of support.

Schedule:

  • Primary Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Additional Coverage: Occasional weekend, as needed,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overnight supervision and support to the adult daughter.
  • Assist with nighttime routines, including preparing for bed, changing clothes, and addressing any personal care needs.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of the individual throughout the night.
  • Offer companionship and calm presence during evening and overnight hours.
  • Assist with light household tasks, including laundry, light cleaning, food prep, and meal cleanup.
  • Communicate regularly with the family and care team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or older adults preferred.
  • Compassion, patience, and a calm, supportive demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow household routines.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and provide professional references.
  • Willingness to register with a New York State agency after the initial trial period.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Oxygen in use – Non-smoking candidates only, please.

Pay starts at $24/hour-negotiable
