Job Title: Respite Provider, Whitestone, Queens, NY

Job Type: Part-time / Flexible Schedule $25 – $28 pr. hr.

Location: In-home (Whitestone) and community-based settings
Schedule: Flexible, including weekends with daytime hours, some evenings- when necessary  (5 PM – 9 PM),  and weekday coverage when Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are off. 

Seeking a respite provider who will offer temporary relief and assist parent caregivers, ensuring that their daughter with developmental disabilities and the parents receive quality support in their home. Loving family members include an elderly Father, Mother, and Disabled Adult Daughter.  Everyone is mobile.   

Responsibilities Include Providing direct support and supervision to the adult daughter.  Assist with daily living care and personal care,  and offer companionship to the family.  Ensure the safety and well-being during respite care.  Assist with household tasks, including laundry, light cleaning, food preparation, and meal clean up.  

Qualifications Include a high school diploma or equivalent.  Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, older adults, or in a caregiving role preferred.  Patience, compassion, and good communication skills.  Ability to adapt to different care settings and individual needs.  CPR/First Aid certification would be an added plus—reliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check and provide references required.  Register with the NY State agency after the initial trial period.
