Superintendent needed for General Contracting Company NYC

We are a General Contracting company in NYC who is looking for a superintendent role position that just opened up. 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Superintendent to oversee maintenance and small construction projects for our portfolio of high-end commercial gyms primarily located throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse in-house team of carpenters, tilers, and laborers, while coordinating with a network of trusted subcontractors to ensure the successful completion of various touch-up and renovation projects. This role involves working closely with high-profile clients to maintain high standards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and consistently deliver quality service.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise in-house maintenance teams and subcontractors for various projects across multiple sites.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Coordinate and schedule manpower to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure all projects comply with regulations.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of building blueprints, project scopes, and client expectations.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets for maintenance and minor construction projects.
  • Track inventory and manage supplies for timely project completion.
  • Oversee and inspect completed work to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the construction or maintenance field.
  • Strong project management, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professionalism and interpersonal skills to interact with high-profile clients and build strong relationships.
  • Experience managing projects in high-end commercial or hospitality settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NYC building codes and safety regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between project sites as needed.
  • Proficient at Excel.

Salary:

Starting at 80k negotiable based on experience.
