Service Department Field Supervisor needed NYC

We are a premier, Manhattan-based luxury residential General Contractor specializing in high-end, custom renovations and ground-up builds across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Lower Hudson Valley. As our company continues to expand, our Service Department is seeking a dedicated, versatile, and highly skilled Field Supervisor to maintain the integrity of our completed projects and ensure our clients receive top-tier ongoing support.

Position Overview

The Service Department Field Supervisor is a hybrid role combining hands-on technical execution, subcontractor management, and client relations. Reporting directly to the Director of Service Department, you will be the face of our company on 1 to 2 sites daily, managing small-scale service projects, diagnosing issues, and executing fine carpentry repairs in fully finished, ultra-luxury environments.

This position requires a high degree of flexibility, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a meticulous eye for detail.


Key Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision & Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee and manage specialty subcontractors (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) performing service work, ensuring compliance with company standards, schedules, and cleanliness protocols.
  • Hands-on Execution & Repair: Personally perform high-end carpentry repairs and minor technical touch-ups as needed to resolve client service tickets.
  • Diagnostic & Problem Solving: Assess and troubleshoot post-construction issues across various trades (e.g., MEP systems, millwork adjustments, water infiltration) to develop effective, efficient solutions.
  • Client & Communication Management: Maintain a professional, empathetic, and polished demeanor when interacting with clients, estate managers, and designers. Provide clear, proactive updates on project status.
  • Reporting: Document field findings, progress, and completed works accurately to the Director of Service Department.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Trade Expertise: Broad, well-rounded knowledge of residential construction systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) combined with expert-level finish carpentry skills.
  • Luxury Experience: Proven track record working within high-end, fully finished residential spaces. You understand the “white-glove” standard—protecting finished surfaces, maintaining immaculate job sites, and respecting client privacy.
  • Communication Skills: Stellar verbal and written communication skills are non-negotiable.
  • Mobility & Logistics: Must possess a reliable personal vehicle and a complete set of professional hand/power tools. Willingness and ability to travel between 1–2 jobsites daily across NYC boroughs and the Lower Hudson Valley is required.
