Construction Accountant / Bookkeeper

Location: Midtown South NYC

Orchard Construction Group is seeking an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper with a strong background in the construction industry to join our growing team in New York City.

Responsibilities include:

• Client invoicing and preparation of AIA requisitions

• Assisting the project management team with subcontract administration

• Managing and maintaining in-house insurance policies and subcontractor insurance compliance

• Project costing, job coding, and financial tracking

• Processing and tracking payments to vendors and subcontractors

• Maintaining W-9s, lien waivers, capital improvement certificates, and other required construction documentation

• Preparing and managing payroll

• Tracking in-house and subcontractor change orders

• Supporting oversight of office and field staff as needed

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in construction accounting or bookkeeping

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience, starting at $55,000+
