Carpenters needed for outdoor Decking & Landscaping company in NYC.

We are looking for passionate members to join our team and compensation varies from $25-45/hr. depending on experience.

Job Description:
Full-time installer to support the construction of residential and commercial gardens.

The role involves physical outdoor work along with occasional shop manufacturing.

The position involves:

  • manufacture and assemble high-quality custom architectural elements and structures in wood, masonry and metal
  • read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specifications
  • determine tolerances and alignments
  • operate all woodworking machinery, finishing equipment, power tools, and hand tools
  • work with different materials, including stone pavers, metals, hard and softwoods
  • perform exact measurements, ensure precise installation of hardware and other elements
  • perform wood finishing, sanding, staining, and applying finishes
  • monitor quality across the team and ensure each piece is fabricated to a high standard
  • plan and execute fabrication strategies; oversee and manage junior fabricators and assistants
  • ensure safe work practices are adhered to and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • maintain a clean and tidy work area and facilitate required repairs and maintenance to all equipment

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • training from a relevant program such as woodworking, millwork, carpentry OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • experience as a lead-hand or senior installer
  • a passion for challenging fabrication and tight tolerances
  • the ability to self-motivate and be schedule conscious
  • a strong attention to detail and amazing problem-solving skills
  • competency in reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings
  • a thorough understanding of health and safety principles and practices
  • a willingness to collaborate with a team and work independently when needed
  • an in-depth understanding of fabrication processes and manufacturing/building materials
  • experience with materials like wood, solid surfaces, fabric, acrylic, glass, leather
  • flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
