Location: Bronx, NY
A busy construction company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Millwork Shop Steward to oversee daily operations in our millwork shop. This leadership role is essential in ensuring high standards of craftsmanship, workflow efficiency, and team coordination in the production of custom architectural millwork for luxury residential and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate shop personnel, ensuring daily tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Serve as the liaison between the shop, project managers, and field supervisors to ensure timely delivery and installation of millwork components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment compliant with OSHA standards.
- Interpret shop drawings and blueprints, providing guidance on fabrication processes and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Manage material inventory, shop schedules, and equipment maintenance.
- Train and mentor junior team members in best practices and company standards.
- Perform quality control inspections throughout the production process.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in millwork fabrication, including cabinetry, trim, and architectural woodwork.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop setting.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, machinery, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to quality, detail, and craftsmanship.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA.
Preferred:
- Experience working with high-end custom residential or commercial projects.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Full-Time – Starting at $60k++
