Crana Electric Inc. is seeking a right-hand person to our CEO. We have a vacancy for a Chief Operation Officer (COO) with strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view. The COO will lead our team of professionals to be efficient, productive, and effective. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the electrical/construction industry, preferably having worked their way up to an executive role which would have led to business and management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices, policies, and procedures of the electrical/ construction industry.
Job Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership and operational management of the organization. This executive position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring that business goals are met.
The COO will work closely with other senior leaders to drive operational excellence, implement process improvements, and foster a culture of continuous growth and development within the company.
Objectives of this role
- Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy.
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.
- Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Analyze internal operations and identify areas for enhancement / improvement.
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to department heads, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee field operations, human resources, accounting department, estimating team, and sales teams to meet profit goals while partnering with CEO.
- Liaise with project management team on job progression, cost to complete, budgets, manpower, productivity to ensure timely delivery of key projects while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Oversee AR / AP Department.
- Manage all areas aggressively to ensure that the company achieves growth and profitability.
- Monitor performance and take corrective measures when necessary, and prepare detailed updates and forecasts.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers and clients.
Required skills and qualifications
- 10+ years in a COO position.
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity inspiring teams towards achieving common goals while fostering a positive work environment.
- Solid grasp of overall day to day operations with the electrical/construction industry.
- Proficient in strategic planning, financial management, compliance, and negotiation.
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools.
