Volunteer at the Aisling Center

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Aisling Center!
Our work in the community is made possible by volunteers like you. Whether you can help with events, programs, or behind the scenes, there’s a role for everyone. Explore the ways you can get involved below. We’re excited to have you with us!

Volunteer Opportunities

While we offer senior activities five days a week at the center, we know not everyone can make it out. That’s why, every Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m., a team of caring volunteers brings warm, delicious lunches from The Rambling House to over 40 homebound seniors in our community. But it’s about more than just a meal, it’s a wellness check, a friendly face, and a reminder that someone cares. If you have a couple of hours to spare and a heart for helping others, we’d love for you to join us!

Our most popular senior event is our Tuesday Lunch. Each week, over 60 seniors gather to enjoy a hot meal from a local Woodlawn restaurant and share good conversation with friends and neighbors. But none of it would be possible without our amazing volunteers! From noon to 2 p.m., they set the tables, serve meals, help with cleanup, and, most importantly, spend time chatting with our seniors. Looking to make a meaningful difference in just a couple of hours? Come lend a hand!

Foróige is Ireland’s largest youth organization, creating fun, supportive spaces where young people can thrive. Every Friday night, kids and teens come together to play games, build confidence, and enjoy a safe, welcoming place to spend their evening. Foróige Volunteers lead activities, guide conversations, and make each night special. If you’re passionate about empowering young people and can spare a few hours on a Friday night, we’d love to have you join us!

Every Monday night from 6 to 9 p.m., the Irish Volunteers for the Homeless hit the streets of New York City with 250 sandwiches and bottles of water in hand. Volunteers bring essential support to those experiencing homelessness. It’s a small gesture that makes a big difference and we need your help to keep it going. Join and be part of the effort to support our neighbors in need during the ongoing homelessness crisis.

The Aisling Center is always buzzing with activity! From senior programs five days a week to seasonal drives, youth events, and cultural celebrations, there’s always something to prepare for… and clean up after! Whether it’s rolling silverware for our Tuesday lunch, setting up for an event, or putting away tables and chairs, every helping hand makes a difference. Reach out and find out how you can help with some of the odds and ends that keep the center running smoothly!
