Michelle Doherty, born and raised in Falcarragh, County Donegal, is the Aisling Center’s 25^th Anniversary Yonkers Ambassador. Michelle has been a proud member of our community since she immigrated to America 25 years ago. She says, “Yonkers is home, and the people are always there for each other. No matter what.”

Now, Michelle wants to see this community maintained for generations to come. She sees the importance of keeping the Irish heritage and culture alive in NY and is happy to have her son, Aran, participate in the Aisling Center’s Foróige program. Michelle has also been a dedicated member of Team Aisling since it was created and has been instrumental in its development. With the support of her teammates, she is training to run her first New York City marathon this fall!

Apart from running, Michelle enjoys cycling and No Limits bootcamp. She has also played soccer with Fiona’s Bar and Gaelic Football with NaFianna over the years and credits these team sports with introducing her to great friends who have become family in this country.

Michelle is eager to bring everyone together as a community, and that’s what our 6K Challenge is all about! We are thrilled to have Michelle representing us. Be sure to join her in Yonkers on October 31^st for our 6K event with a celebration to follow at Rory Dolan’s
