Martin Murphy

The Aisling Irish Community and Cultural Center is proud to have Martin Murphy representing the AICC in the New York City Marathon, this November, as a member of the Aisling Marathon Team. This will be Martin’s first marathon and he is excited to take part in it. Martin lives in Co. Armagh with his wife and three children and has visited New York previously three times. He met with Fr. Brendan, St. Barnabas and the topic of the marathon came up while Fr. Brendan was visiting Ireland. Martin immediately entered his name into the lottery to run. Martin played Gaelic Football when he was younger and enjoys running because it gives him a chance to clear his mind and keep in shape. While he is not training, he coaches his son’s football team and is a proud supporter of GAA sports. He is using his time training and running to support his friend and the AICC.
