Mechanical Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator who can take ownership of detailed mechanical and HVAC estimates — from scope review and quantity takeoffs to subcontractor pricing and proposal submission.
This is a key role within our company’s preconstruction process, reporting directly to ownership.
We’re a family-owned mechanical contracting company based in Yonkers, New York. We specialize in full-service HVAC, piping, and mechanical installations for commercial, educational, and multi-unit residential projects across the five boroughs & Westchester.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 (Depending on Experience)
Bonus: % annual performance-based

Location: Office-based in Yonkers with flexibility after established training period
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and subcontractor/vendor pricing.
- Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, and proposal development.
- Collaborate closely with project management and ownership.
- Maintain cost databases and contribute to process improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project feasibility and resource needs.
- Prepare and submit bids for mechanical contracts and tenders.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations during estimation processes.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for accurate pricing and procurement.
- Provide ongoing support and adjustments to estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC/piping focus).
- Strong understanding of NYC construction markets and labor.
- Skilled with FastDuct/PlanSwift, or comparable takeoff software.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work closely with leadership.
